Following is some information that I hope
will answer any questions you may have about the website and the images displayed here.
The Images
The images within the gallery pages have been taken
“in camera”. Film images are then scanned. The only digital "magic" or
manipulation that is used is that of standard darkroom techniques for developing
and exposure. The images you see here and the splendor that
they hold, are the natural magic that is in the beauty of our world. I hope these images stir your emotions, touch your spirit, speak to your soul and convey to you what was felt and seen at the time the image was created.
The Gallery
Gallery images that are 11x14 or larger are signed and numbered limited edition prints. There are 180 prints in
each size of these images. In the transition of bringing an image into the
three dimensional world, all materials, techniques and processes are of archival
quality to ensure the longevity and integrity of the image, which, by current
standards is modestly expected to surpass 75 years. You will also find special images in the
Gallery that have been selected to benefit a particular charity. All proceeds
from sales of these special images
are donated directly to the individual charity.
Bottom Phrases
The phrases at the bottom of the website are adopted from what is called the "Cavers
Creed" which is used by cave explorers. I first came across it in an issue of
Outdoor Photographer magazine. Essentially it speaks to the care and
consideration that needs to be given to the fragile ecosystems and nature's
delicate designs that are found within caves. The sentiment hit home with me
and I adopted it as my own guidelines wherever I go, especially when taking
pictures.
